Confirmation Class \ Overview

Some of this year’s confirmands during an in-class service project at the New Canaan Food Pantry.

Confirmation is a journey of Christian formation and transformation, learned and lived out over the period of a school year. Beginning in September, we guide eighth graders through the Christian story in confirmation class. On Tuesday evenings and Sunday mornings they work together with lessons, games, activities, and trips to learn the history of our church, examine the stories of the Bible, and explore world religions while serving others and the church.  Each child will write a personal statement of faith that is read by the deacons and discussed individually with each confirmand over a shared dinner. The 2013-2014 Confirmation Class joined the church as adult members on Sunday, May 18, 2014 at the 9:30am service of worship.

Every Confirmation Class will need to meet a number of well-established expectations in order to fully enrich their participation and journey. A list of these expectations can be found here.
